1. Who we are

Platewell is run by Teddys Ventures Limited (company number 17175500), registered office Suite 6, The Workshop, Wharf Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 3FG. In this policy "we", "us" and "Platewell" mean Teddys Ventures Limited.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@platewell.co.uk or by post at our registered office.

2. Two kinds of information

Platewell handles two different kinds of personal information, and our role is different for each:

4. Emails about Platewell

We may email care homes about Platewell and ask for feedback. Every email has a way to unsubscribe, and we will stop as soon as you ask. Our emails may tell us whether they were opened and whether a link was clicked, so we know who to follow up with and who not to bother. You can ask us not to track this.

5. Who we share information with

We never sell personal information. We use these trusted suppliers to run Platewell. They may only use the information to provide their service to us:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights, or with a buyer if our business is ever sold (who would have to protect it in the same way).

6. Information leaving the UK

Platewell's database is stored in the UK. Some suppliers above are based in, or may access information from, other countries. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK's approved contract terms (the International Data Transfer Addendum) to keep the information protected to UK standards.

7. How long we keep it

8. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Each care home can only ever see its own records, enforced inside the database itself. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. Access by our team is limited to what is needed to support you.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: see a copy of your information; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and move it to another service. You can download a copy of your care home's data at any time from Settings → Download a copy of my data. To use any of your rights, email hello@platewell.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

10. Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The Platewell app stores small pieces of information in your browser so you stay logged in and the app works (for example, remembering you've seen the welcome video). These are strictly necessary, so we don't ask for consent. Our survey page remembers, for that browser session only, that the survey was opened, so we don't count it twice.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes we will tell customers by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
